Mike Ciholas

Founder and President

In 1986, Mike graduated with a bachelor’s degree in physics and minors in mathematics and computer science from Centre College in Danville, Kentucky. In 1988, Mike received a master’s degree in electrical engineering and computer science from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) where his master thesis work was on stereo vision systems.

After graduating from MIT, Mike spent two years in Silicon Valley on a robotics startup, and then spent two years as a network hardware engineer for the Laboratory for Computer Science at MIT. During this time, Mike also worked as a part-time consultant designing electronic devices for various clients.

Starting in 1992, Mike became a full-time consultant designing and inventing products for various clients. Three years later, Mike moved to Newburgh and continued his consultant work from the basement of his home. As the need for his skills increased, Mike sought to grow his business and hired his first employee in 1999. The business soon grew too big for his basement and over the years continued to grow to its present size moving to its current location in Newburgh in 2014.

Mike is an avid pilot and often uses the company airplane for company travel. Mike lives in Evansville, Indiana, with his wife, Dr. Deborah Hwang, Director of the Computer Science program at the University of Evansville.
