Ultra-Wide Band (UWB) is a cutting-edge technology that communicates high bandwidth information over a wide radio frequency spectrum using very low power levels. The most common application of UWB is in Real Time Location Systems (RTLS) that use a series of UWB tags and anchors to precisely define and track the location of assets within a facility.

The base of the system is a series of anchors installed throughout the facility to be included in the tracking. Anchors are installed on the ceiling, and their location is precisely measured and recorded.

The tag is affixed to the trackable asset. Each tag communicates with the closest anchors at a set length of time determined by the expected speed of movement of the asset. For example, a pallet in storage would record fewer locations than a person walking through the building.

All data communicated between tags and anchors is processed through an algorithm to determine the precise location of the tag in 3 dimensions. Location data can then be delivered through an API to the customer's specific application software to be utilized in their operations.
Real-Time Location Systems can be integrated within any industry requiring precise and efficient object position data. Installation can include indoor or temporary outdoor applications.
