Ciholas began in 1992 as a one-man consulting, design, and invention firm founded by Mike Ciholas. After moving to Newburgh, Indiana, in 1995, Mike operated the business out of his basement. As the company grew and its client list expanded, he hired his first employee in 1999. The company soon grew too big for his basement and opened an office in Evansville.
Over the years, it grew to its present size of more than 35 employees housed in a custom-built 35,000-square-foot building in Newburgh, IN. The building, personally designed by Mike, is one of the most energy-efficient in the Tri-State, using a combination of insulation and geothermal heat pumps as the primary design elements.
We have worked on many projects we are excited about. Ciholas-engineered projects have included timing equipment used at the Olympics, bomb diffusion robots utilized in the Middle East, Real-Time Location Systems covering millions of square feet, and scientific instruments deployed in space. What will we work on next? That's up to you! What project can we help you with?
